BACKUP

Introduction to backup

  1. An icon will have been installed in either the Dock or the Desktop at time of installation.  To create a backup, double click on this icon to open the application

  2. The main backup screen is split into 2 windows.

  3. The left hand window will contain a list of your backup definitions. Files and folders are backed up in definitions so that you can keep things such as accounts and client records separate or you can save all your data in one definition if you prefer. It depends on how you like to be organised.
  4. The right hand window contains a view of all the drives presently connected to your computer and/or network. The hard drive is usually referred to as '/' .  You will probably be familiar with the general layout of this directory structure as it is a similar representation to that used by most other Macintosh-based programs for the selection of files.  On first use this window will also be empty.
