BACKING UP DATABASE FILES

When backing up database files (Sage, Quickbooks, Access, ACT, SQL), please follow the standard backup procedure, details of which can be found at here

  1. Create a new definition (called database)
  2. Select the database you wish to backup
  3. Confirm the time and frequency you wish to backup the database
  4. Save the backup definition

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. When backing up databases we strongly recommends reducing the 'Backup Cycle' to between 1-7 depending on the size of your database
  2. You may need to close down your database prior to backing up.
  3. Please note that some databases require you to update the 'saved' file prior to making a backup of it. This may need to be done manually each time before your automated backup takes place. (We reccomend that you carefully read the support files provided with your database application).
