WORKING WITH USERNAMES AND PASSWORDS

Have you forgotten your Username or Password?

Your Username can be found at the top of every email we send you (i.e your backup confirmation email), please check and you will find it.

Your password contains a combination of letters and numbers and is something you created at the same time as you set up your username when you registered for an account.

If you have forgotten your password you can reset it quickly and automatically by clicking through to the Login area here.

How to change your password?

If you ever wish to change your password you can either get the system to automatically reset it for you (see point 1 above), or else if you just did this and wish to update it to something more memorable, please follow these instructions.

  1. Open the backup software by double clicking on the desktop icon
  2. Go to the toolbar
  3. Select Options > Update My Account Details
  4. You may need to wait a few seconds for the Account Security box to open
  5. Click on the Change Password tab
  6. Put in your current password
  7. Put in your new password and then confirm this again
  8. Click Submit

NOTES:

You must know your current password before you will be able to change it.

New passwords must be at least 6 characters in length, contain a minimum of 1 digit and consist only of alphabetical characters (no underscores, hyphens, exclamations marks etc).

Good examples of passwords would be brian55 or 250973xyz, and incorrect passwords would be bob!_45 or jennysmith

Your username is permanent and cannot be changed.

Have you received the "Invalid/Bad Username Exception" error message?

This is usually due to forgetting to verify your Username and Password after installing the backup software and is easily remedied by following these instructions:

  1. Click on 'Start' (bottom left corner of computer screen)
  2. Click - Programs
  3. Click - Online Backup
  4. Select - Update My Account Details
  5. When this window opens up, confirm if you have anything in the 'Username or 'Password' fields?

    If not, please put in your Username and Password that you created when setting up the account.

    Your Username will be on your Welcome email and invoice from us. (Only you will know your password, though it will be a combination of letters and numbers i.e sarah1 or brian55) Once you have put in your 'Username' and 'Password', scroll down to the 'connection section' and leave this blank if you have either ADSL, Broadband or cable and scroll down further to the bottom of the page and click 'SUBMIT'.

  6. A small box will now appear saying 'Settings Changed'
  7. Click OK

You have now verified your account with your Username and Password and should be able to use the backup software without problems.
